Associate Editor

Based in Hong Kong

The associate editor works closely with the magazine’s other editors and publisher in producing a website and bimonthly publication. They are also involved in ArtAsiaPacific’s digital-media platforms and other projects. Responsibilities will include editing reviews and online articles, writing stories for print and online, and generating ideas for content.

This is a full-time, Hong Kong-based position with potential to grow within the magazine’s editorial team.

The successful applicant should have the following attributes:

·      University degree in at least one of the following fields: art, art history or other humanities, cultural studies, or journalism/communications

·      At least three years of experience in an editorial role and/or in the arts industry

·      Excellent written and spoken English (written and spoken Chinese a plus)

·      Able to communicate complex concepts in approachable and engaging ways

·      Detailed-oriented, with a careful eye and strong editing skills

·      A strong researcher, able to critically analyze and synthesize information from a wide range of sources

·      Confident in conducting in-person conversations and interviews

·      Good organizational and communication skills, able to work with feedback and in collaboration with others

·      Able to generate creative editorial ideas

·      Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

·      Adept in social media and digital media
