Tehran/ New York: A Call, Wafaa Bilal

by The Editors

Originally debuting at Aran Gallery in Tehran on September 23, “A Call” was developed as “a memorial to the dead, the living, and the forgotten of the Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988).” The performace, which involved over 80 Iranian participants, a swimming pool and five cameras streaming live, hoped to “enact the dislocations, delays and ruptures that war breeds.”
