Originally debuting at Aran Gallery in Tehran on September 23, “A Call” was developed as “a memorial to the dead, the living, and the forgotten of the Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988).” The performace, which involved over 80 Iranian participants, a swimming pool and five cameras streaming live, hoped to “enact the dislocations, delays and ruptures that war breeds.”
