Abu Dhabi Art 2015

by Katherine Volk

Entrance of Abu Dhabi Art 2015 held at Manarat al-Saadiyat. All photos by Katherine Volk for ArtAsiaPacific.

For its 7th edition, Abu Dhabi Art brought together 40 galleries from around the world—including the United States, Europe and Asia, as well as those from the Middle East—to showcase modern and contemporary art at Manarat al-Saadiyat. In addition to the galleries, the art fair also presented discussions, performances and interactive experiences aimed at connecting with the local audience. Engaging with the vibrant local culture of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi Art captures the spirit of the region’s diversity as well as displays the finest works from the international art community.

The Beyond platform at Abu Dhabi Art features large-scale works that engage with public spaces within Manarat al-Saadiyat and, more broadly, the city of Abu Dhabi. Selected works from the Beyond public art segment will continue to be displayed for a period of six months.
